About Greenville in Harmony Show Chorus

Greenville In Harmony Show Chorus is a dynamic award-winning chorus dedicated to musical excellence and sharing the joy of a cappella four-part harmony through contemporary cutting edge performances.  We encourage camaraderie, confidence, and community relations.  We are committed to performance education and creating high energy performances filled with musical artistry and a rich, resonant sound.

 

Performance

Since 2005, the chorus has provided high quality a cappella and barbershop harmony performances to local civic, educational, and corporate audiences in the Greater Greenville area.  The chorus also represents the Upstate when it participates in regional competitions or attends international competitions.

 

Meeting the Greenville in Harmony Chorus is a unique experience!  Our music will intrigue you and our costumes and choreography are exciting and enhance the music we sing.  We love to sing for our community!  We perform at a number of community events and annual shows and competitions, and also sing at numerous nursing homes and assisted living centers. Education

Vocal and performance instruction is a regular part of weekly chorus rehearsals and an integral part of our chorus experience.  An exciting part of our year are the visits from master coaches in the art of barbershop harmony, where we learn advanced techniques to continue our journey to musical excellence.

 

Through its youth outreach, the chorus offers performance opportunities to high school students with its Sing For Scholarship Program and annual show.

 

CompetitionEach spring, Greenville in Harmony participates in the Region 14 chorus competition in Winston-Salem, NC. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year. 

Quartets

Most choruses have a number of members who form their own vocal quartets in addition to singing with the chorus. Greenville in Harmony currently is home to a number of wonderful quartets, and we are very proud of them!

Greenville in Harmony is affiliated with Sweet Adelines, International, a non-profit organization of approximately 30,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters is in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
